Welcome to the Acceptable Use Policy of Quillstitch. This document explains the rules and guidelines for using our embroidery digitization platform responsibly and lawfully.
Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of Quillstitch and all related services provided by Quillsys LLC ("we," "us," or "Owner"). This AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service.
By using Quillstitch, you agree to comply with this AUP. We may modify this AUP at any time, and your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your account, removal of content, and other actions as described herein.

Prohibited Content
You may not upload, submit, or otherwise transmit any content that:
Intellectual Property Violations
- Infringes any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property right of any party
- Contains logos, brand marks, or trade dress of companies or organizations without authorization
- Reproduces copyrighted characters, artwork, or designs without a valid license
- Uses sports team logos, league marks, or related imagery without authorization (including but not limited to NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAA, FIFA, Olympic marks)
- Contains content from entertainment franchises (such as Disney, Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Pokémon, Nintendo, or similar) without authorization
- Uses images, patterns, or designs taken from the internet without verifying licensing rights
Illegal Content
- Violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation
- Promotes or facilitates illegal activities
- Contains content that is illegal to possess, distribute, or transmit in any applicable jurisdiction
Harmful or Objectionable Content
- Is defamatory, libelous, or fraudulent
- Is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit
- Depicts or promotes violence, abuse, or cruelty
- Contains hate speech or promotes discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Harasses, bullies, intimidates, or threatens any individual or group
- Promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders
- Is designed to shock, disturb, or cause distress
Harmful to Minors
- Exploits or endangers minors in any way
- Is designed to attract or appeal to minors in an inappropriate manner
- Violates the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or similar laws
Deceptive Content
- Impersonates any person or entity, or falsely states or misrepresents your affiliation with a person or entity
- Contains false, misleading, or deceptive statements
- Is designed to deceive or defraud others
- Contains counterfeit goods or unauthorized replicas
Malicious Content
- Contains viruses, malware, spyware, or any other malicious code
- Is designed to disrupt, damage, or limit the functionality of any software, hardware, or telecommunications equipment
- Attempts to gain unauthorized access to our systems or the systems of others
Prohibited Activities
You may not engage in any of the following activities:
Service Abuse
- Using the service for any purpose other than its intended use as an embroidery digitization platform
- Attempting to circumvent any usage limits, access controls, or security measures
- Using automated systems, bots, or scripts to access the service without our express written permission
- Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the service
- Attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service or any associated system or network
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any aspect of the service
Commercial Misuse
- Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing access to the service without authorization
- Using the service to provide digitization services to third parties in a manner that competes with Quillstitch without a commercial license
- Mass-producing digitized designs for commercial sale in a manner that violates our Terms of Service
- Using the service to create designs for counterfeit goods
Account Abuse
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, bans, or usage limits
- Sharing account credentials with unauthorized users
- Selling, transferring, or assigning your account to another party
- Using another user's account without their permission
- Providing false or misleading information during account registration
Excessive Use
- Using a resource of Quillstitch excessively in relation to other users. In such cases, the Owner reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend your account or limit the related activity until you reduce the excessive consumption
- Sending abusive or excessively frequent requests to the Service via the API. The Owner reserves the right to temporarily or permanently suspend access to the API. In such cases, the Owner will make a reasonable attempt to alert you prior to suspension via the email address associated with your account
Scraping and Data Extraction
- Adopting any automated process to extract, harvest, or scrape information, data, or content from Quillstitch (including but not limited to design outputs, user data, or metadata)
- Using any automated means, including robots, crawlers, data mining tools, or similar, to download, store, or otherwise reproduce or aggregate Quillstitch content or data
- Using scraped content or data for any purpose, including but not limited to commercial, research, or training purposes, without the Owner's express written consent
Network Abuse
- Sending unsolicited communications, spam, or bulk messages using information obtained through the service
- Collecting or harvesting user information without consent
- Using the service to send or facilitate phishing attempts
User Responsibilities
As a user of Quillstitch, you are responsible for:
Content Ownership and Rights
- Ensuring you own or have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions for any content you upload
- Verifying that your use of uploaded content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of third parties
- Understanding that purchasing an image does not automatically grant rights to create derivative works
- Obtaining written permission from rights holders when required
Accurate Information
- Providing accurate and complete information when creating your account
- Keeping your account information up to date
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
Lawful Use
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
- Understanding and complying with export control laws if applicable
- Not using the service in any way that could expose Quillsys LLC to liability
Security and Malware Practices
- Implementing sufficient security measures on your own systems, devices, and networks when accessing Quillstitch
- Taking appropriate precautions to prevent the introduction of viruses, malware, or other harmful code into the Service through your use
- Maintaining up-to-date antivirus and anti-malware software on devices used to access Quillstitch
- Notifying us promptly if you become aware of any security vulnerability or breach affecting the Service
Reporting Violations
- Promptly reporting any violations of this AUP that you become aware of
- Cooperating with any investigation into potential violations
Guidelines for Embroidery Content
To help you use Quillstitch responsibly, please consider the following guidelines:
Generally Acceptable Content
- Original artwork and designs you created yourself
- Content for which you have obtained a valid commercial license
- Content in the public domain (verify carefully—public domain status varies by country)
- Content licensed under Creative Commons or similar licenses that permit derivative works (check specific license terms)
- Commissioned artwork where you have obtained rights to create embroidery derivatives
- Your own photographs (but be aware of trademark or personality rights issues)
Content Requiring Caution
- "Free" images found online (these are often not actually free for commercial or derivative use)
- Fan art or content inspired by copyrighted works (generally requires permission)
- Designs incorporating fonts (font licenses often restrict derivative works)
- Images containing identifiable people (may require model releases)
- Content from stock image sites (check if embroidery/derivative works are permitted)
Generally Prohibited Content
- Logos of companies, sports teams, or organizations you don't own
- Characters from movies, TV shows, video games, or books
- Celebrity images or likenesses
- Brand names, slogans, or taglines
- Content marked with watermarks from other services
- Designs clearly copied from other embroidery digitizers
Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates this AUP.
Actions We May Take
Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, we may:
- Issue a warning to the user
- Remove or disable access to the offending content
- Temporarily suspend the user's account
- Permanently terminate the user's account
- Report the activity to appropriate law enforcement authorities
- Pursue legal action to recover damages or obtain injunctive relief
Advance Notice of Access Restriction
Where feasible and unless a serious violation necessitates immediate action, the Owner will provide at least 7 days' advance notice before taking measures that could result in the user's access being prevented entirely or considerably restricted.
No Obligation to Monitor
While we reserve the right to monitor content and activity on our platform, we are under no obligation to do so. Users are solely responsible for their content and compliance with this AUP.
Repeat Offenders
Users who repeatedly violate this AUP will be subject to escalating enforcement actions, up to and including permanent account termination without refund.

We provide this AUP as a guide to acceptable use of our service. This AUP is not exhaustive, and we reserve the right to determine, in our sole discretion, what constitutes a violation.
